Teacher Development Course
Our Teacher Development Course is a mid-level class designed for teachers who have already completed their initial TEFL training.
The course meets the 20 hour/week criteria required by most student visas but is also appropriate for TEFL-trained teachers who want to increase their knowledge and perfect their teaching skills.
Key Features of our teacher development course
- Course length: 6 – 12 months
- Cost: 120€/month, or 12 months for 1200€
- Time commitment: 20 hours per week of study (which meets student visa requirements)
- Start date: ongoing
- Maximum number of students per group: 10
This course builds off knowledge and teaching experience that new teachers will have obtained from completing 120+ hour practical TEFL course.
The course is designed to combine advanced teaching instruction with the opportunity to share classroom experiences in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. Experienced teachers will be available for discussion and feedback.
To preserve the high quality of this course, we restrict enrollment to no more than 10 students at a time.
The 20 hour per week required course time is divided between input sessions at the school, regular assignments, and language awareness tasks. Four general modules cover technique, methodology, language acquisition, and language awareness. For each module students will complete a series of reflective evaluations and critiques, create materials and lesson plans, and keep a teaching journal.
These tasks and corresponding instruction will help to create critically aware and confident teachers. In addition, all students will maintain a personal portfolio.
Long-term student visas are a great way to pay for travel – enabling you to work legally and travel freely. You are eligible to apply for a student visa when enrolling in the Teacher Development course for 7 months or longer.
