The CertTESOL is a Level 5 qualification in accordance with Ofqual’s Regulated Qualifications Framework, which is comparable to the second year of an undergraduate degree. The certificate TEFL course includes a minimum of 130 hours as well as an expected minimum of 70 hours of self study.

The TEFL International network is made up of over 30 schools in more than 22 countries. As a member of this network, we are accredited by Lamar University in Texas, US. In addition, we are also accredited by the Tri-Continent Degree program at Siam Technology College in Bangkok, Thailand.

Our TEFL International Certification course is recognized by Lamar University as a three-credit undergraduate university course. An official transcript is made available to each student upon successful completion of the course. As a member of the Texas State University System, Lamar University is authorized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award degrees at the Associate, Baccalaureate, Masters, and Doctoral levels.

Local Board: To ensure the highest standards in training, facilities, and services are being met at our TEFL International Barcelona centre, local ESL professionals and school managers regularly conduct an external moderation of our facility.

This team of ESL professionals is led by Dave Hopkins, a teacher and teacher educator with four decades of experience in English language teaching. Dave has extensive experience working throughout Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and the US in the fields of Teacher Training, materials development, course design, and classroom media. Dave currently serves as an English Language Specialist for the US State Dept. while also providing training workshops and consults with the University of Southeast Asia on the development of their English language programs.
