Why Madrid?

Madrid is known in Spain as the “city that never sleeps”, and though it lacks the beach that Barcelona has, it is renowned for its nightlife, art, museums, and culture.

It is Spain’s largest city and a great hub to get cheap flights from to visit the rest of Europe and to take high-speed trains that will have you on a Spanish beach in less than 2.5 hours.

Our TEFL course is housed in a beautiful and historic building in the centre of the city.

Working in Madrid Our Job Guidance Service

The demand for teachers in Madrid far surpasses that of any other city in Spain and you will have the choice of working with adults or children or a combination of both. You will also have choices as to whether you want to work in a school, academy or teaching adults in-company.

Our Madrid TEFL centre works with over 300 schools, academies and agencies so you will get a range of job offers straight after the course (and sometimes in the middle of the course!).

Our job guidance workshops begin with CV writing and move all the way up to interviewing, and then creating the best schedule for classes that you’ve been offered.

You will have one on one meetings with our job guidance advisor during the course, and she will continue to provide you with support for as long as you need it; a week, a year, or rest of your life!

Overview of current courses

Our Madrid centre is in a partnership with Universidad Europea del Atlántico. This means that whilst all the administration, course delivery and support is given at our Madrid school, the official visa paperwork is that of the University.

The students therefore come to Madrid for a yearlong University course. A bachelor’s degree is mandatory for non-EU visa students.

TEFL Courses in Madrid

Advanced TEFL with Spanish Language and Culture Visa Programs:

Program I

  • Suitable for: Graduates who do not yet have a TEFL Certificate and want to spend at least one year in Spain.

  • The course:

    • 180 hour hybrid TEFL Certificate course accredited by TQUK
    • Observed Teaching Practices
    • 4 weeks of intensive Spanish Classes and cultural activities
    • 7 months of part-time Spanish classes (3 hours per week)
    • 7 months of Ongoing Professional Development leading to an Advanced Certificate in TEFL
    • Paid teaching placement
    • Evaluation with teaching supervisor

  • Cost: 3600€

  • Start dates:

    • 2024: 8th Jan, 26th Feb, 8th April, 20th May, 19th Aug, 16th Sept, 14th Oct, 18th Nov

Program II

  • Suitable for: Graduates who have done an in-person TEFL Certificate course (Minimum 120 hrs with 6 observed teaching practices). Potencial candidates would need to send the curriculum they have covered to our DOS for evaluation.

  • The course:

    • 8 weeks of intensive Spanish Classes and cultural activities
    • 7 months of part-time Spanish classes (3 hours per week).
    • 7 months of Ongoing Professional Development leading to an Advanced Certificate in TEFL
    • Paid teaching placement
    • Evaluation with teaching supervisor

  • Cost: 2900€

  • Start dates:

    • 2024: Any Monday of the year where possible.

Program III

  • Suitable for: Graduates who have done an extensive on-line TEFL course. This does not include weekend TEFLs, 50 hour courses etc. Potential candidates would need to send the curriculum they have covered to our DOS for evaluation.

  • The course:

    • TEFL Training Update
    • Observed Teaching Practices
    • 6 weeks of intensive Spanish Classes and cultural activities
    • 7 months of part-time Spanish classes (3 hours per week).
    • 7 months of Ongoing Professional Development leading to an Advanced Certificate in TEFL
    • Paid teaching placement
    • Evaluation with teaching supervisor

  • Cost: 3300€

  • Start dates:

    • 2024: 8th Jan, 26th Feb, 8th April, 20th May, 19th Aug, 16th Sept, 14th Oct, 18th Nov

TEFL Only

  • Suitable for: Graduates you do not yet have a TEFL certificate and have an EU passport

  • The course:

    • 180 hour hybrid TEFL Certificate course accredited by TQUK
    • Observed Teaching Practices
    • Full job support program

  • Cost: 1375€

  • Start dates:

    • 2024: 8th Jan, 26th Feb, 20th May, 19th Aug, 16th Sept, 14th Oct, 18th Nov
